No offense, but you're reading too WAAAAAY much into the mods' move. I would've asked the Admin Moderators their reasoning first.

Technical does appear under the "News/Activism" umbrella, which means it shows on the main FR comments page. I'd bet excellent money that's why one of the mods spiked it, and that it has nothing to do whether this topic is actually technical or not. The thread about "we're in the top 1000" stood for 3-4 days. The topic "we're in the top 850" stood for about 8 hours until some mod decided it wasn't worthy. The fact remains, Jim rob needs to support or not this effort and the mods will fall in line.
