Stanford is an overwhelmingly and exceedingly liberal institution.

Not to attack you, but I really don't see why "pricey liberalism" was ever a relevant criticism. If someone wants to find a cheap conservative outfit that's doing this sort of work, I'll be happy to chip in, but in the mean time, if it's Stanford that's doing the research, Stanford it is. My father is in the early stages of Alzheimers, and that's not a political issue, liberal or conservative.

Like I said, this is not directed at you, really - just general grousing about some of the criticism here...

Typical - morons can't read. I haven't seen anyone quit. Matter of fact, I think there's at least two or three new signups on this thread.

When I tried to reload it, it showed me as anonymous so I stopped it. Any help to get me back to folding would be greatly appreciated. I'll be back in 25 minutes. This is how my folding page looks.

"My father is in the early stages of Alzheimers, and that's not a political issue, liberal or conservative."

I provide Long Term Care coverage for a lot of my clients. It is staggering to me how many spouses, parents or relatives I come across that have Alzheimer's. It is a very challenging disease to deal with.

I carry copies of this book and give it to those I come across.

You may find it helpful.

Drat, have to shower again... :)

Their happiness or unhappiness has never seriously worried me, but in any event, I look at the bright side - it'll take them the better part of a year at their current growth rate to equal what we've (collectively) already done. That they'll try to do so only helps the future, so all is good in my mind.

" it showed me as anonymous so I stopped it."

Good - you must start "as-if" you are sigining up for the first time. Use your same old user name. Then hope it picks up where you left off.

What happened is what happened to me, I'll bet. Since I'm living on that assumption, I'll tell you what I did...

When I clicked on the link to download the software, I also told my browser to open the package. That put the work directory in a temp folder. Opening it directly on my desktop lost my entered information, whereas opening it from my browser's download list restarted the 'lost' work unit.

The best idea is to copy the software to a specific directory, open it from a dos window (start-run program-cmd) and run it while in that directory reentering the data (and after your current work unit has finished, so you don't lose it.) I told it to operate as a service on restart and haven't had a problem since then. I use FAHmon to monitor work unit times and point values (see post #3 on this thread) which I unzipped into a sub-folder of the folding at home directory.

I also shared the folders with the other computers on my network so that one workstation can monitor the work unit status on all the machines (perfect if you have multiple computers at home.)

Texas, You don't do yourself justice.:)

I would not be folding if it were not for you, and the joy of knowing I'm actually a part of something so good really makes it all worthwhile.

As I stated early this am, whatever the team decides (as far as folding goes), I'll go along with. I've emailed Systematic and Klutz let them know this as well. This includes my trucking friends, too.

It's my understanding that you and Systematic hold the "keys" and, therefore, are the ones to make decisions.

All Hail Texas Booster!!! You've done a very good thing, thanks.

When I do that, it immediately starts downloading me as anonymous. I'm on the console version on my desktop.

Just to clarify - if you're using, for example, Firefox and you hit ctrl-j to open up the download list and you scroll down to the FAH504-Console.exe and double click to open it, you're still getting anonymous downloading of a packet?

Didn't you save it somewhere before you ran it last time? That same folder is where your partial work should be.

Yes I do. That's why I keep stopping it from loading. And I am Firefox.

Is there a logfile_01.txt in there? Can you open it and see what it says?
