We have to call the poets in
'tis gentle words we need
the world of lions show
their teeth and roar

We need the words of lovers near
to ward off the woe
of worldly arrows in the air

and horrid tv shows.

We write of many things
as they are in our days
of snow or grapes
or riding bikes
limericks at the bay

new poets come to ply
their craft
a joy one and all
the Lair is home
to all of them
a corner all their own


Lines put down for prosperity
as all of us will go
but our words will testify
we were here and
we gave them a show.
