Comprehension in the Night
Fog draped evening, slipping by in whispers soft,
and not a breeze to be felt, yet the fog swirls around.
Crusted snow litters with casual intent the ground,
as overhead, a swallow swiftly flits just aloft.
There is a bite to the air, an edge of reality bold,
yet subtle too, like some slight of natures hand.
Sounds do ebb and flow in the fog where I stand,
and for just this moment, time does strangely fold.
Stars burn in a brilliance that sets them like jewels,
strung across Eternitys ebony arch to delight the eye.
And the moon is a silver lighthouse in the night sky,
guiding quiet dreams home to we simple mortal fools.

Good morning, friend.
Comprehension in the Night
Lovely poem. Fog is such interesting stuff, however, dangerous for drivers.
Glad you enjoyed Eva Cassidy.

Distorted songs
She was coming 'round the curve doin' 90 miles an hour
when the chain on her new bicycle broke!
She was found lyin' there with a sprocket in her pocket
tickled to death by an errant and willful spoke.
The old outhouse looks the same
but the catalogue is gone.
And there's the old oak seat
that I used to sssssssi-it on.
Down the lane I'd run,
sometimes I'd make it.
Other times
I'd have to fake it.
That's why we had
the green, green grass of home.

Glen Gaul Way-A Secret Ice Garden
In the Land of Glen Gaul Way a secret garden lies hidden away amongst the fern and mossy coves home to the lowly turtle doves.
Hidden from the denizens known to my lady fair and her proud knight, of Glenn Gaul Way.
By night a secret haven of their bliss waiting for the gentle kiss from her winged lover fair the Dragonfly of Glenn Gaul Way.
Cloaked in golden gossamer and in velvets rich all seeing eyes of wisdom never missing a trick.
A Dragonfly by day is he stately prince by night, the gem of Glen Gaul Way is he, her winged delight.
In day the garden stays covered all in rime near the edges one can see little sprigs of thyme
smell the aroma of jasmine fine and chamomile rare the garden frozen thru the day a wondrous work of ice at dusk the moon light takes a turn to gently melt the ice,
And set to play the lovers dance in this frozen land reveling secrets from the past of a gaily inhabited land.
A swoosh is heard at even tide a glittering sight is seen as the Dragonfly appears upon the frosty scene.
Four wings in motion cause a breeze enough to stir the air a crackling snap of thawing ice fills the tiny ice cove sweet aromas fill the air intoxicating all around as the pair begin their dance on the icy ground.
His hand guides her round their secret frozen land to live and love the night away tis their destiny fulfilled.
A saddened heart beneath her breast as moon and stars fade way to dawns dim light the price to pay for their Ice Garden play.
My Lady Fair clasps her bosom as he departs at dawn to worlds only known to him and a promising return at dusk their realm to display.
