So South Park is not only vile, blasphemous and obscene, the people who make this filth are plagiaritsts. But all the Conservative in Name Only so called South Park Conservatives here will undoubtably jump to defend them.

Gee, I have somebody who's never met me, doesn't know a single thing about me, and he knows I'm a CINO because I like to watch South Park. You have the numbers for this coming Saturday night's Powerball, too, Karnak?

I suppose I'll opine on this thread, first of the day... I take offense to being called a Conservative in Name Only because I watch South Park. Guess what... I watch Family Guy too! As a matter of fact, I own all 3 DVD volumes and the Stewie movie, and Seth MacFarlane is VEHEMENTLY liberal. He's out and out disdainful of Bush and his administration, but the show is a riot.

In reference to this article... it's bunk. The SP episode was Cartman trying to fix the Special Olympics, with a little side-barb on the whole steroid controversy. If you actually watched the show, you'd have seen the end of it where they flat out accuse 3 major league baseball players of being dopers ("Just admit it," was the theme voiced over and over). The Ringer, to me, seems like just another comedy a la Johnny Knoxville, catering to the Jackass-watching teens and college stoners.

I think Parker and Stone are hilarious, and they crank out SP episodes as fast as new MSM controversies come out. I am proud to call myself a South Park Conservative. Nothing about SP spits in the face of conservatism, because they spit in the face of EVERYONE, whenever they can. Hell, I watch Family Guy, and they're getting more politically vitriolic every season. And I'll still watch it despite that.

Too bad the South Park guys aren't Conservatives. They're Libertarians. . .

And we make fun of retarded people all the time.

Except we label them "Liberals" and "Democrats". . .

Probably because Conservatives. . . .that is, REAL Conservatives:

1. Have a sense of humor . . .unlike liberals. . .

2. Don't like being told what they "shouldn't watch". . .

3. Unlike Liberals, we don't indulge in groupthink. . .

This probably fits into point 3, but I think many conservatives would prefer absolute freedom to watch, do and think whatever they want, whenever they want. To be told that we're bad people and not in line with the "groupthink" of Conservatives because we watch a satirical cartoon is downright insulting. If you have a problem with the content, there are 200 other channels you could watch.

Btw, what's with all the anti-SP rhetoric?

It's a new FR pastime. The crevo threads are getting boring and the dems are digging their own graves. Gotta hate something I guess.

I don't watch "Family Guy" anymore. It's not the politics, it's the fact the stories aren't as funny. I do like "American Dad" though. Even the episode with Karl Rove as the evil emporer was hillarious. I really miss "King of the Hill" though.

I don't think it's any coincidence that this story came up today http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1548615/posts

Part and parcel of the degenerate world we live in, which is why it's important to take a stand for what's right instead of just "turning the channel."

Prove it. They claim to have 'shopped the idea to the brain trust of South Park' yet they never met with Matt and Trey. Just who do they think ~is~ the brain trust behind South Park? The secretary they tried to get a date with?

Heh.. Right. These losers think Matt and Trey need their ideas.

So, you have nominated yourself to be 'He Who Decides What Is Right' for the rest of us? Do us all a favor. Take a valium.

As Robin Williams told the cranky sergeant major in "Good Morning, Vietnam", "You're in more dire need of a b*** j** than any man I've ever met in my life..."

People always want other people to fit into a tidy box. They always end up disappointed because people don't tend to want to 'stay' in boxes.

Expect consistent, clear politics from politicians. Expect comedy from comedy writers. Sometimes the comedy may be about politics, but I wouldn't take it too far. I happen to think Matt and Trey are an amazing talent, who have repeatedly shown to have great ideas and a surprisingly keen ability to take a broad issue and put exactly the right point on it. But I wouldn't try to fit them into a political platform. Heh... I fear if they are thought to be predictable on issues, they'll rebel, and hard. ;~D

Scariest line from the article :

The Farrellys, meanwhile, are attempting to stage their long-gestating update of The Three Stooges.

Shudder......

No offense, but it's attitudes like yours that are so effectively ridiculed by the South Park creators. It's a shame that you appointed yourself an expert on a subject you are so ignorant about.....conservatism. A simple "I don't get it, so I don't watch it" would have worked just fine. Geez......

I loved the episode with the killer whale, when the artist's drawing of the "suspects" showed four very realistic images of the kids.

As Sheila Broflosky would say, "What, what, what??!!" You can't reproduce perfection, and there's nobody who can reproduce the genius of the original Stooges.
