Is Cartman a crook?
Peter and Bobby Farrelly, the gross-out gurus behind Dumb and Dumber and There's Something About Mary are accusing South Park masterminds Trey Parker and Matt Stone of ripping off a movie idea.

. But all the Conservative in Name Only so called South Park Conservatives here will undoubtably jump to defend them. Let's see, South Park has attacked Hollywood leftists many times, PETA, government regulation, anything PC, the commercialization of Christmas, the war on Christmas displays, environmentalists, fetal stem cell research, the Paris Hilton set, parents who don't take responsibility for their children, NAMBLA and God knows how many other leftist institutions and ideals.
Yeah, it's real non-conservative to like South Park.
But, FTR and as it has been explained, there's no connection. Both came up with the idea independently. It happens. Live with it.

I'm surprised nobody picked up on it but the Special Olympics episode that balch was so indignant about did NOT in fact make fun of 'retarded' people.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
Now ~that~ is kinda retarded. [/stan]

I loved the American Dad ep. where they lambast the gun industry and Haley starts doin the Kumbayah crap, getting her father into it after he's disabled by a bullet. Then an assassin's bullet dislodges and pushes out the bullet that was causing him to be handicapped in the first place.
MacFarlane struggles to stay unbiased, but he puts his own little personal barbs in there when he has to. It's certainly hilarious, and Family Guy brings his politicization of cartoons full circle.

I would guess some of these same people listen to Howard Stern. Stern said some of the same things you are reading on this thread about Pres. Bush and Michael Powell, so you are in good company.
SouthPark is a stupid show that won't be remembered by anyone. However, everyone is free to choose how they spend their time.

Oh - you actually want to talk about the merits of the episode in question! Great!
Indeed... the episode is a classic "tortoise and the hair" story... Cartman thought he could cheat and win without really working at it, and in fact, he lost every match because he didn't have the drive or ability that those kids had. It was harder than it looked!
But folk sometimes need the point knocked into them with a 2x4. Dudes... not only is Cartman the villain in the story (you dweebs) but he loses! :~D
Personally, on this 'whose idea was it' issue, I think it's clear from the "Farrellys" (who I have never seen anything good from) own statement that they never even met with Matt and Trey on this story. They aren't even suing. All they're trying (and admittedly succeeding) to get here is a little more publicity for their second rate flop movie that will probably be forgotten before the credits are done runnin'.

I'm not really sure what they prefer but I know my daughter Ashley doesn't like being called retarded. Ashley is the kindest, sweetest, impeccably honest, and hands down the most genuine kind heart God ever created. She tells me I shouldn't watch because they use "bad words", I still do but only after bedtime.
