I asked the same question when I watched the re-run of the Jessica Lange/Jeff Bridges version.

In one scene KK is all passed out from the chloroform, in the next scene he's in the hold of the oil tanker.

So they didn't even try to address that in the new movie?

They could have at least tried to make it look like helicopters moved him or something.

They were being faithful to the original 1933 classic, which also avoided the issue.
