AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1797) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | December 22, 2005 | All of Us

Posted on 12/22/2005 4:27:55 PM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good evening!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

TWU Local 100 agreed to go back to work in New York, ending the illegal transit strike there. Two million dollars worth of fines, pending appeal to a New York State Appellate Court, has been levied against the union local, and Gov. Pataki has said they will not be waived. No change in the negotiating position of either the union local or the City of New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority has occurred, and there exists the possibility of another walkout.

Saddam at his trial indicated the United States is "the number one liar in the world." The trial has been adjourned until January 24, 2006. In other words, so far, there have been four or five court days and weeks upon weeks of nothing.

And President Bush stated "it's been a good year for the American people."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Caue, the Chairman.

Why is the deuce-5 on the DND list?

Don't know. I heard that on NPR, and then checked with transportation to confirm. NPR actually got one right.

No reason given, just the factoid confirmed.

I am taking a break from cleaning. I left it until this evening because someone promised he would help, only now he has a sinus headache and is in bed. Am I surprised? No.

Back to work.

I made 75 meatballs, 36 sausages, 14 QTS of sauce and 4 pans of lasagna.

I did my last min shopping and my feet are now killing me.

Sipping fresh coffee and relaxing till tomorrow

I did find this, from 2000: We were in the most forward deployed division in the army, and still working on deuce-and-a-half trucks that we were ordered not to order parts for (they were to be replaced by the new LMTV later this year- vehicles that I had signed for at Fort Campbell two years prior).

Entire read here, but unable to digest, dinner has intervened...

Hi Molly and everyone. Thanks for the greetig this morning. Seems like forever since I've posted here, and indeed, had to look up how to post a picture as it's been so long since I've done that!

I still manage to lurk enough to keep fairly up to date with some of you. Hope your back gets better soon Dolly.

John, I think it's great that you've found two little furry companions who need you. We still have our 3 girl cats who like to think they rule the roost.

Living as we do by Lake Superior, there was never any question of whether we'd be having a white Christmas. Having a nice little mild spell now with temps in the reasonable 30s. Company planned for dinner tomorrow. Am making manicotti as the main dish. Cheesecake with raspberry sauce for main dessert. Roasting turkey on Christmas day.

Younger son (age 15) has joined his older brother in achieving his Eagle Scout rank. He and his good buddy will be having their joint Eagle ceremony on the 29th, so we've been busy planning that.

Here's hoping you all have a joyous Christmas with your families and best to you in the New Year.

Evening...and Merry Christmas.

One more day...and the crowds go away.

I understand about the supermarket zoo.

I've been there 4 times in the last 3 days.

Are you listening to O'Reilly interview this arrogant POS from ABC News? Brian Ross. Unbelievable.

Oh, good, Newt will be on to refute him next. I'd better go do something while waiting.

I am done for the day

I wish I could make the same claim.

I have a couple more pans of rolls to pop in the oven as soon as they appear to be ready (still raising), one gift to wrap and 2 dozen eggs to devil.

It is reasonable to think I can be finished by 10:00 and have the clean up completed.

I may fill the socks tonite just to get it out of the way. Tomorrow I will set the tables. There will be 16 here 15 here.

We arrived home just as the POS was completing his segment. He must have been bad for you to use such strong words this close to Christmas ;>)

Newt is lecturing. In this case, I'm thinking that's a very good thing.

The holidays bring out the non-shoppers....the ones who don't know an apple from a gallon of milk. I had one lady ask me where were the green beans. If they had teeth they would have bit her in the butt. Then another one asked me where were the clementines that were on sale.....she was standing right next to a pallet of them.....clueless.

Then I had one person ask if I worked in the store...I had on the uniform and an apron ... totally clueless....ugh.

I got tagged by the family to do a brisket for tomorrow. They paid. I had to purchase. It was stupid. Folks don't know much, and the girl at the checkout wondered about the things I had in the basket....

It's for an award winning brisket recipe. This is what I do for a living....

Wrong thing. Then I had all and sundry asking about how to cook their Chrismas pheasant, or iguana, or gato....

Glad to be out of there. I don't know how you do it.

BTW, do you know how to cook this Himalayan Yak with Sweet potatoes? I mean... you are the veggie guy. Surely you MUST know.

The other cat apparently has clocked in and is visible again. I have NO clue where she hides. And then just shows up again. She's spooky.

She's obviously night shift.

Weird cat.

That's a lot of food. 3 and a half gallons of sauce? Wowza!

You can cook on my team anytime.

Jim, God looks out for drunks and small children. The rest are sent forth and we have the unfortunate happenstance to meet and deal with them. 'Tis our lot in life...no matter how annoying it is to us. Guide them on their way and keep biting that tongue! ;]
'Twas the Night Before a Military Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the skies,
Air defenses were up, with electronic eyes.
Combat pilots were nestled in ready-room beds,
As enemy silhouettes danced in their heads.

Every jet on the apron, each SAM in its tube,
Was triply-redundant, linked to the Blue Cube,
And ELINT and AWACS gave coverage so dense
That nothing that flew could slip through our defense.

When out of the klaxon arose such a clatter
I dashed to the screen to see what was the matter;
I increased the gain and then, quick as a flash,
Fine-adjusted the filters to damp out the hash.

And there found the source of the warning we'd heeded:
An incoming blip, by eight escorts preceded.
"Alert status red!" went the word down the wire,
As we gave every system the codes that meant "FIRE!"

On Aegis! Up Patriot, Phalanx and Hawk,
And scramble our fighters--let's send the whole flock.
Launch decoys and missiles, use chaff by the yard!
Get the kitchen sink up! Call the National Guard!

They turned toward the target, moved toward it, converged.
Till the tracks on the radar all finally merged,
And the sky was lit up with a demonic light,
As the foe met his fate in the high arctic night.

So we sent out some recon to look for debris,
Yet all that they found, both on land and on sea
Were some toys, a red hat, a charred left leather boot,
Broken sleigh bells, white hair, and a deer's parachute.

Now it isn't quite Christmas, with Saint Nick shot down.
There are unhappy kids in each village and town.
For the Spirit of Christmas can't hope to evade
All the web of defenses we've carefully made.

But a crash program's on: Working hard, night and day,
All the elves are constructing a radar-proof sleigh.

So let's wait for next Christmas, in cheer and in health,
For the future has hope: Santa's coming by STEALTH!
