No... I think a lot of other people wear the funny hats, too. :)

"Would commentators similarly applaud a story of cheating, if the adultery involved a married man and a married woman?"
Didn't Medved see "Bridges of Madison County"? Cheating is NOT a new plotline.

So that's what Edwards did with that little kielbasi he bought.

Historically sheepherders were considered scum of the earth by any real cowboy. There were lots of deadly turf battles between the two. Sheep ruined many parts of the prairie by eating plants and grasses right off at the roots leaving very little for other animals to eat or to grow back. Also caused lots of erosion later blamed on cattle.
I think it is appropriate that these are sheepboys in more ways than one.

Don't let Michael snow you on this one. I turned off my radio while listening to him go on and on about how brilliant the film is. MEDVED FRAUD ALERT!!
Excuse me?
I AGREE with Michael about this disgusting movie BUT I do not need Medved or anyone else to "Snow me" about what a POS this movie is. I am a PRO-FAMILY person and I am sick and tired of how cheap marriage has become to those peddling their twisted, disgusting, pathetic lifestyles through movies.

He is a movie critic. He was talking about the technical aspects of the movie, not the subject. He hates the subject and does not recommend anyone see the film.

Its sad but I have read posts on FR from some people that applauded that kind of thing. Happily it was rare. But I have seen them before.

There's a lot of sarcasm on this thread. You'll have to give a better example than "says who?"

I'm sure he was talking about the technical aspects but if he were viewing gassing of holocaust victims would he applaud the
technical brilliance of the film crew?
The movie has graphic scenes of gay sex (porn) and he speaks of it
as brilliant filmmaking.
I won't listen to him anymore.

As a side note, it goes without saying that adultery or any other sin is not an excuse for violence which must be strongly condemned as well. "violence", a liberal buzzword, is not an excuse for homosexual activity either -both are crimes against humanity. In fact, both are only related because both are disordered -disorder tends to breed disorder. If you have a problem with a poster that is posting violent messages then I suggest you hit the abuse button and report the posting - otherwise you are just disparaging FR members in general, parroting the homosexual agenda -promulgating propaganda rather than observing, acting upon and dealing with a reality.

Personally, between the homosexuals and the gangsters, I'd rather lose the gangsters. Should we protest every Martin Scorcese movie? I hate serial murderers, too - should we protest Jonathan Demme? I hate birds who peck out the eyes of schoolteachers - Darn that Hitchcock!!!Don't forget the vampires. Way too many movies about vampires.

Yeah, a real cowboy. He is a former governor of Texas. How more qualified should one be to present such an image?

The main problem with "Broke Back Mountain" isn't that it's pro-gay; it's that the emphasis on following your urges rather than honoring your responsibilities is, at its heart, anti-marriageWhy confuse us with facts. I mean, the Episcopal church takes the identical position as the movie with regard to ordaining gays who left their wife and children for their gay lover. Who are we to question why? < /end sarcasm>

I understand it is two extremely sensitive homos who give the sheep a break by getting it on with each other. I saw Medved on O'Reilly's show a couple of nights ago, and he referred to it as "the infamous pup tent scene". He said he saw people (his wording seem to indicate men) walking out of the film at that point.
He seemed to think that this film had gotten so much publicity that everyone should have known what they were getting into. Personally, I don't think people pay all that much attention to film reviews. They may have heard "gay cowboy" without knowing that you were going to be given a very up close and personal look at what actually goes on between two "gay cowboys".
To: TennesseeGirl
It cost $14 mil to make. As of last weekend (week 2) it has grossed $3,474,311. To be honest about the numbers, the first week it was out it was only in 5 theaters, and those in large cities (presumably with large gay populations). The second week it was in (I think) 64 or 65 theatres.
Now, I assume that the people putting out this drek are thinking that with all the free publicity the film is garnering, that when it goes national it will pull in business. I really doubt that will happen. It is going to die out in the general population. This thing was done strictly to (1) push an agenda; and, (2) get a lot of awards.
