I'm going to think all good thoughts about your special boy, Sam. Having just gone through a cancer scare with my favorite cat, Elliott, I can certainly empathize with you.

The hardest part for me was "not borrowing trouble." Meaning, staying away from the idea that it was going to be bad news. In point of fact, I knew no such thing. Other fact being, El's problem turned out to be benign. I hope for the same outcome in Sam's case.

Cats are often extremely sensitive to our emotions. I've read that and heard it from vets. Finally decided that I didn't want Elliott to feel fear from me, so I decided to get a grip. I wanted him to feel especially loved and secure, so that's what I worked on.

Don't know that any of that will be meaningful to you. Just know I'll be thinking of you. Take care.

Sam has no palpable tumors yet, but does have elevated lymphocytes. KState will be doing xrays and sonograms to see if they can pinpoint the location. He's definitely got a problem, it is just a matter of determining the best course of action at this point.

It is apparently quite early in the progression of the disease, so all bets are that he will probably recover. But one never knows. Eeeeeek. I just can't stand to see them in the hospital, all hooked up to iv's and sick, and you cannot explain anything to them.

I'll certainly take your advice and keep it positive around him. This Ambassador of the Kitties (his attitude and coolness have converted a number of cate haters), the Supreme God of Laidbackedness and Loviness, deserves to live forever, as far as I am concerned.
