"President Reagan commonly described Nicaragua as a 'totalitarian dungeon'."

And correctly and accurately. And thanks to President Reagan's pressure on Nicaragua -- in the face of the opposition of the so-called Democrats in Congress -- the Ortega dictatorship in Nicaragua had to hold free elections under international scrutiny, and lost. Ortega and his henchmen retired to the mansions built for the Somoza regime and its supporters.

Reagan's approach to and results in Nicaragua does indeed illustrate the value of dissent. :')

Thanks for pinging.

And that trashing of the US, is why he won because his writing was second rate.

"Everyone knows what happened in the Soviet Union and throughout Eastern Europe during the post-war period: the systematic brutality, the widespread atrocities, the ruthless suppression of independent thought. All this has been fully documented and verified.

But my contention here is that the US crimes in the same period have only been superficially recorded, let alone documented, let alone acknowledged, let alone recognised as crimes at all. "

Moral equivalency, malignant exaggeration, lies, taken to sickening levels.
