There are many attorneys who do this work and will not charge you unless they get relief for you. Where do you live? There are 800 phone numbers and if you have a computer, which you obviously do, just use google to find legal help.

Its a "long running case" that many attorneys have refused. I have a feeling that there is a reason that they have refused to take the case.
It is hard enough to pick up an appeallate case after an attorney has lost at the trial court; it is nearly impossible after a pro-se litigant has done so.

I don't have this problem but the poster here did. One shouldn't need an attorney but if its a complex matter, then hiring one makes sense. You get a clearer picture of what's facing you and get a better understanding of what your options are. At least the initial consultation's free and a good attorney can let you know if its worth the time and the money to pursue the case. That's all most people really need to know and if turns out money can be recovered, you can work out the terms of the services to be rendered with the attorney at that point.
