United Nations-Bashing Book a Surprise Hit with UN Employees

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 14, 2005 -- A new book by Joe Klein has developed a surprise following among delegates to and employees of the United Nations. While UN personnel may be a cosmopolitan and well-read group, their sudden interest in this particular book comes as a shock to many and may, according to the book's author, reveal widespread internal distrust of the leadership of this global institution.

Klein's "Global Deception: The UN's Stealth Assault on America's Freedom" (World Ahead Publishing; hardcover: $25.95; ISBN 0974670146) paints a grim picture of the United Nations. The author claims that the UN's once noble ideals have been corrupted by a powerful clique of "globalists" who seek to transform the organization created by Harry Truman and Winston Churchill to serve the world's nations into a platform to govern them. This agenda, Klein asserted, has turned the UN into a coven of special interest groups and pitted it against the world's only remaining superpower, the United States.

"UN delegates and employees understand better than anyone how Kofi Annan and his fellow globalists have corrupted that organization's potential," says Klein, a New York attorney who studied at Harvard Law under Archibald Cox. "I am pleased to hear of their enthusiasm over my book -- hopefully it can serve to further educate them about the shortcomings of the globalist agenda and bring about desperately needed change within the United Nations."

"We've been surprised by the dozens of people affiliated with the UN who have contacted us to request a copy of 'Global Deception,'" adds Eric M. Jackson, the president of World Ahead Publishing. "Personnel stationed everywhere from Turtle Bay to as far away as China have written to us about it." Jackson notes that the publishing house is currently offering complimentary copies of "Global Deception" to UN-affiliated personnel who contact them, and it has an inquiry into the UN's Department of Public Information to determine if the organization would be willing to assist them in distributing copies to employees.

Klein's book has developed a loyal following since its debut last month. Whereas many conservative critics have disparaged the UN for corruption and called for the United States' withdrawal, "Global Deception" makes the case that powerful ideologues -- not the organization itself -- are to blame and that the UN can be reformed. But the path to reform may be an uphill road, admits Klein, since activist judges within the US judiciary are increasingly invoking foreign precedents in a way that strengthens the globalists' agenda.

"Hopefully the enthusiasm on the part of UN staff to read my book indicates a recognition the organization must reform and return to its founding ideals," says Klein. "Otherwise, the antagonism between the United States and the UN will continue, ensuring that the global institution never recognizes its true potential."

You can bet that UN employees won't be reading that book in the office cafeteria during lunch breaks...

I don't think UN employees get to the office in time to eat lunch there.

Even the employees are jumping ship. Mr. Bolton is trying but this place needs to go to the scrap heap of history.

LOL. You're probably right, wideawake -- they're all too busy dining at Nobu or the Rainbow Room.

I just wish the bastards would relocate to Paris, where they belong, and we would stop giving them money.

Bolton has promised to withhold funding until reforms are enacted. This book from Joe Klein of all people is a shock. Klein is a notorious liberal.

>>Klein is a notorious liberal.<<
And now they'll shun him as they're doing to Joe Liebermann for speaking the truth.

I think it is a different (better) Joe Klein. Here is the link to his Amazon listing.

With a cover like this, this guy is clearly no liberal.

For a minute there I thought it was by the Joe Klein that writes for Time and appears on CNN. That would have been stunning, because that Joe Klein is not really worth listening to once you've figured out his world view.

And sure, enough, this is a different Joe Klein. The book may indeed be credible after all.

Isn't the Time/CNN Klein the guy who wrote Primary Colors? I think this author is definitely a different guy, then -- he's a NY attorney. The name must just be an unfortunate coincidence.

Klein is neither a conservative nor a liberal in a knee-jerk sense. "Primary Colors" was anti-clinton, but not a full-bore indictment. If nothing else, he knows how to sell books.

I agree that UN employees are not likely to read this book in the lunchroom. But what may seem hopeful to some of them is that the UN is not fundamentally corrupt, only taken over by a faction that might possibly be forced out.

Of course the huge majority of UN bureaucrats are simply products of a system that milks the US and uses the money to dole out gravy to the US's enemies. They are probably sympathetic to the program Kofi represents. And Kofi was by no means the first, just the worst.

Well, I wrote that before I realized that there may be two Joe Kleins. The Time guy only seems to use the name "Joe Kline." So far I haven't been able to find his full name. Maybe a little more research. . . .

Let's put the publisher's bio release from Amazon here:

About the Author
Joe Klein, a practicing attorney in New York City, received his J.D. degree with honors from Harvard Law School where he studied Constitutional law with the late Archibald Cox. A one-time believer in the UN's mission, Klein now writes in his new book of the dangerous path of global governance the world organization is taking and how it threatens America's Constitutional liberties.

They call him "Joe Klein" all through the publicity release. Maybe they are hoping to capitalize on a famous name to sell more books. But they noticeably don't mention Joe Klein's earlier books, which they would surely do if he were the same guy.
