Vanity: Request recommendation for online or correspondence MBA program

Since freepers have IQ above the rest of the population, I thought I would solicit recommendation from this forum concerning getting an MBA online or by correspondence. I know this degree is useless in the real world, but some jobs require you to have that piece of paper.

I heard many online MBA programs are a joke and are not respected.

Does anyone know of a respectable online or correspondence MBA program, esp. in the area of financial analysis.

Thanks for any info you can offer.

Used to be that one could "earn" a PhD from the University of the Pacific for a few hundred $$.

Check out MIT to see if their Management Dept has any online course material.

I am currently taking my MBA on line at Kaplan University. I am taking my first class and it is anything but easy. On line degrees are gaining respect and there is a great deal of self discipline involved. You will also see on line degrees growing in undergrad degrees because it is much less expensive. Student loans are available for them as well. My wife is also getting her masters in education from Kaplan.

If I interviewed someone and they touted an online degree as a big qualification for them, i'd laugh them out of the office. No online degree will ever have the prestige of a good non-virtual bussiness school.

Many universities are expanding their programs to offer significant-maybe even total- online training for non-traditional students. There are a few online programs that are accredited. If they aren't you're not eligible for financial aid.

Be totally honest with yourself...you must be very self-disciplined to pursue online education. If you aren't, you will lose interest/motivation & not complete the classwork on your own.

Western Governors University. It's something a consortium of western States put together for online education. It uses courses from a large number of big name State University and Colleges. Definitely NOT a diploma mill. Highly respected because of the origin of the content and its quality.
