You might want to take a peek at your local Wal-Mart. Ours has a decent selection of Christ-themed wrapping paper and some pretty explicitly pro-Jesus Christmas cards, too. It might vary by state, purchasing team, or general manager preferences, however.
You're so intolerant, politically speaking.
This is a good post. I TOO wanted to get something CHRIST mas and not just seasonal, and I looked at WalMart. They aren't friendly to the Christmas crowd. If anyone knows where we can get some Christmas Wrapping paper please respond. I'm willing to print my own up on this Ink Jet....
We were just talking about that. Of all the places we've looked for wrapping paper, we've only seen maybe two or three rolls that had a Christian theme. All the others were Santa, "holiday" trees, or commercial character based. When I say two or three rolls, I mean it too. There weren't even multiple rolls of those particular designs.
Since the best Christmas gift of all came wrapped in swaddling clothes maybe copies of the New York Times, or some other inglorious rag, would be best for wrapping paper. IOW, use something lowly and despicable.
Use google...but do it this way:
christian "gift wrap"
or
christian christmas "gift wrap"
...use the quote marks. There's tons.
It appears you have to buy at least 417 feet of the wrapping paper. You must have a BUNCH of Christmas gifts :)A couple of years ago I gave up on finding anything but secular paper and started buying fabric instead. I have been able to find Christian Christmas themed fabric at Hobby Lobby and other fabric stores. I sew bags and tie the tops with decorative ribbon or cord. The best thing is that they are resuable.
BTW...my parents always wrapped the gifts in the funny papers. Why spend more money?
This whole thing is redundant.
Has anyone noted that December 25th is the first night of Hanukkah also?
If I chose to raise my child as half Jewish, Which she IS...Do we no longer fit in here?
I do not get this whole " war on christmas" thing....
And next time don't post vanities in Breaking News.
So, is it okay to tear open baby Jesus wrapping paper? How do you dispose of it? Is it okay to buy it at Wal-Mart if you're boycotting it for not acknowledging Christmas but it's the only place that carries it? Decisions, decisions.
...this is what is called the CHRISTIAN GHETTO...
Try your local Christian book store or Bible House.
Maybe Mecca?
I think brown-paper wrap, tied with yarn or a thick quality string is both tasteful and timeless. (Maybe not for kids' presents however.)
Just make sure there is no grocery store printing on it... that would look tacky.
