Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well...to be fair, it's more Enya-like than traditional Celtic stuff...if there *is* truly such a thing as traditional. I personally like both types of music, but there are plenty who see anything that uses reverb and non-acoustic instruments as horrific.

Kewl. My brother had a bouzouki until recently - had to sell it to pay the rent. I bought it for him, actually. *sigh*
I wonder if they make solid body bouzoukis? They do mandos...though they generally only have four strings insteada the pairs. Like this:

Admittedly, not having to lug around an amp is a hugh plus...and my current mando has a pick-up, so I CAN plug in if I need to. I have in the past. But it'd be awful fun to play around with one of those and a bunch of effects pedals...

It must rotate the tunes from a set point...I don't have the same as you do.
I'll keep an eye out for her name, though!

I'm gonna have to check out the rest of the stuff on live365...they must have a ton of interesting "stations"!
So far Mr. Beepy is being quiet...but the night is young. If it gets loud, I guess I'm calling maintenance. I really don't want to, though. Seems unfair that I have to get someone out of bed on account of an idiot. I realize that would make it the idiots fault rather than my own, but still...
