Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

He doesn't have enough hair.
Though...I suppose there are ways around that, too...

You shoulda seen them though! Perfect hair, perfect skin, designer clothes and accessories, walking around in high heels as if they were born with them on....
And they're both sweet as pie, so you can't hate them. ~sigh~

Yeah - don't tell 2J, but I've had about six aspirin, and as much water as I can stomach.. Slept a little this afternoon. I feel ~OK~ when I'm at rest, but as soon as I move around too much, my head would like to split open. So I'm trying not to do too much of that ;~D

A heating pad on the back of the neck usually helps me, but I guess it depends on what's causing it to begin with.
Ya think you're coming down with a bug of some kind?

Mmm...frid chicken... ;-)
Sounds good.
I'm just still ticked off about that letter. I really don't understand the whole employment process, even after all I've been through this year.

Get some grub in ya and a cup of tea (chamomile with honey if the store's still open) and you should be fine in no time.

I think this area is also extremely snobby as far as education goes. I have over ten years of hands-on experience, but they'd rather I had a graduate degree and NO experience. Makes no sense to me.
I'm just fretting again. Thing is, even if the company I was working for offers me a job again, it will likely be just setting up the computers they'll then be able to afford - the reason the project was cut short was because they ran out of money to purchase computers. And I really don't want to do short term stuff again. I will if I have to, but I want a real job.

I'm coming up on the anniversary of my deciding to come out here, and I've been treading water for about eight months out of the year. I'm wondering what the point of this was. < /whine>

I know you're frustrated, chica. Try not to let it get to you though.
You'll be shackled to your own cubicle soon enough. Don't rush! :-D

I know it can be trying, but it'll happen. It took me about 16 months after moving here from MN to get steady employment.
Evening, all!

I can't help feeling rushed, though. Once Jen graduates, I'll be here on my own, and if I don't have a job good enough to afford this apartment - or a one bedroom, which really costs about the same - I have to go home with my tail between my legs.
I realize that's months off, but not many months.
