Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Evenin' :-)
Well... tonight I stopped by the Jeep dealer and had a look at the Commander.
Hmmm... I like it. A lot. Has me wonderin' if'n that if I'm gonna get something to carry more people and stuff, maybe it'd just as well be lots of people and stuff.
:-) ...and it's got neat toys.

Is this instead of Mustang, or in addition to?

In addition to.
Instead of the Subaru.

That's a good choice then, if it's in addition to :~D
But you're gonna be back to not having a big enough garage.

H there! When I saw the first commercial for it, I thought of you!
It's got better ground clearance than the Subaru, but I'm sure the price reflects that. :-/
But it does look a bit boxier than the Grand Cherokee, so it's closer in appearance to the one your dad had before.

We will be down into the 20's here in North Central Florida. The orange trees actually do better with a few hours like this.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Really? I always thought that frost was the biggest threat to our citrus crop.
How does it help?
Bundle up, LCS! For the next few days anyway. hehehehe...

Well... it's gonna have to sit outside. I think I would garage the mustang.
It's got one little annoyance though. The third row of seats is really unnecessary, and they don't come out, at least not easily (that is, leaving a nice flat floor). All the seats do fold down giving a flat floor but it's maybe four inches higher than it needs to be.
That said, it's still a big cargo space, probably bigger than the cherokee was. Just higher.
But there's lots of neat things about it. Mainly that it is really comfortable. Lots of room. The rear seats even recline. Four people could go on a long road trip and be plenty comfy.

Huh - that third row of seats is really unnecessary for a lot of people, you'd think it would be an option.

It's very boxy. I like that. It looks like a Jeep. The grand cherokee looks like a Lexus. Don't like that.
Well, that... and the 5.7L Hemi. :-)

If you're getting a monster like that, why not go all of the way and get a Hummer!
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
I could get on board with that.
Ramius, why not a hummer?

The sales droid said that everybody says that.
That means odds are good it'll be an option on the 2007, but I dunno if I wanna wait that long.

That's not a real hummer. That's a Suburban.
The girl on the roof is a nice option. I'll see if Jeep has those. :-P

The third row doesn't come out easily? That makes no sense.
Here's betting that next year's model ~will~ have removable third-row seating.
And as for that engine....vroom, vroom! :-)
