Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Thanks,
It doesn't rhyme very well. I could've used some help from Bilbo and Aragorn...
To: Corin Stormhands
Rhymed well enough for us, Corin. Well done.

I'm worn out here, folks.
Hate to leave, but I'd better get some sleep tonight.
See you tomorrow.
Nighty night!

heh...does anyone else remember at least ~thinking~ that the first time we talked about mooting anywhere? Was your moot with g'nad before Entmoot? Huh!...
You know, I don't remember wondering if anyone would be an axe murderer, but I do remember afterwards how spot on everyone was to exactly what I expected.
We may be the most honest anonymous group on the internet. :~D

See, with me and PE, it was just about the same as your cousin. We met online in late March. He proposed on Mother's Day. We set a date right here in the HH. We were married on 9/11/2003.

Ha!
Yeah, something like that.
And if I ever find a guy who can beat my Dad at Scrabble...well, he'd automatically have the respect of the whole clan.

To: HairOfTheDog; g'nad
Was your moot with g'nad before Entmoot? Huh!... Yeah, it was almost a year before Entmoot. Just before they moved to Missouri.
I never really thought he was an axe murderer (although I knew he had the ability), but I have to admit I was a bit taken back the first time they issued an invitation. Especially when it included an overnight visit.
Wife got a kick out of saying "Corin's going to spend the night with someone he met in the Internet..."
