Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I think Jen and Talon played dominoes instead.
Kids these days! *rolls eyes*

~snicker~
Now we'd never do a thing like that.
Unless it was fun, of course.
Or if we discovered she was the female equivalent to certain business-type FReepers. :-/

Well now y'all weren't in the same state and all...I'm more likely to play Monopoly with her in my cousins' dining room (I'm thinking dinner at their place might be an unconventional first "date"-- the one where we determine that the people we "met" on-line aren't really axe murderers).

Indeed!
Though...I admit, if'n I ever do an on-line courtship, I'd prefer to get to know someone over Scrabble.
To: RosieCotton
Scrabble, you say?
Perfectly respectable game that.

"I Love This Thread"
We got winners, we got losers
Chain smokers and boozers
And we got hobbits, we got dwarveses
We got an attack dog with horses
And the elves next door dress up like movie stars
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this thread
We got knitters, we got geeks
Engineers and sneaks
And we got archers, we got writers
Early birds and all-nighters
And the veterans talk about their battle scars
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this thread
[Chorus:]
I love this thread
It's my kind of place
Just walkin' through the front door
Puts a big smile on my face
It ain't too far, come as you are
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this thread
I've seen short skirts, we got high-techs
Blue-collar boys and rednecks
And we got kittens, lots of dogs
And I've even seen dancing squirrels and Balrogs
And we like to drink our beer from a mason jar (or a bottle, or a can, or a glass
.)
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this thread
Yes I do
I like my truck (I like my truck)
I like my girlfriend (I like my girlfriend)
I like to take her out to dinner
I like themovie now and then
But I love this thread
It's my kind of place
Just hangin' around the Green Dragon
Puts a big smile on my face
No cover charge, come as you are
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this thread
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this thread
We got cookies and some South Park fans
An Old Man Willow couch and a tin whistle band
We got bartendresses and we got barflies
We dont tolerate the dumb-asses and wise-guys
If you get too drunk just smoke out in your car
Reason number 672 why
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this thread
Play it on out boys
Beer-thirty's over
Got to take it on home
Hmm, hmm, hmm I love this thread
I just love it
