Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Home is behind, the world ahead
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Heh. I'm still settling in again.
I'm also still fumin' over this new smokin' law. I'll see if I can't rant on it later. :-)

A few of us Hobbits were out and about doing much the same.
There's no place like home though. ;-)

Let's see how it shakes out. Oh yeah, that's gonna leave an impression...
To: RMDupree
True.
I had to drop by and see how everyone was doing.
(More curious than a dragon what's been whomped on the head!)

Yes, we've seen you in the pilantir...
To: Ramius
I know!
Sit in your car while in the garage and have a smoke. Be sure the car is running though.
Surely they aren't going to tell you what you can and can't do in your own vehicle. *smiles*

About pretty much the same things, I might add.
I love this place...
To: HairOfTheDog
K...so I get my internet up and running and check my stuff 'cuz I ain't been online in like two weeks and I got this e-mail from Yahoo Personals with a new match found and usually they all are looking for a 6-foot 24-year-old making $60K+++ so I usually blow them off without clicking the link. This one's a widow, 29, Christian-Protestant (which is about as specific as Yahoo Personals gets), Conservative, yadda yadda, and is looking for someone up to 42 who can have a coupla extra pounds and could be reaaaally short and more yadda yadda. So I'm not actually a subscriber to YP but I can drop a pre-printed line and I picked something like "I'm interested and would like to hear more" which I
hope offers a link to
my profile.
See?
So if I get an encouraging word back it'll be pretty much like what happened to my cousin last August when he went on vacation and came back and found a YP note pointing him to a 33-y-o widow with two li'l kids and yadda yadda yadda, and the wedding was last Saturday.
See?
