In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs again today. Beware !
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

No superwoman here, but thanks for the compliment. XS does it every day for a family of four, and she has a hell of a commute from work and three kids to drop off/pick up, so she's the one who should be wearing a big "S" on her shirtfront.
I learned to blitz it home from work and fix a healthful meal from fresh foods for my family when there were cubs living in our den, but we lived in the 'burbs then, closer to work-and as long as I remembered to take out meat to thaw before I left to take my daughter to school and to go to work, I could stop at the supermarket less than 1/2 a mile from our house on the way home from work, get fresh veggies and put the kids to work preparing veggies for steaming, making salad and setting the table so that by the time my husband got home there was no mad rush to get dinner on the table because it was nearly ready. Also, I've always planned my menu for the week's meals ahead of time, especially with kids at home who want to change their minds about what they want for dinner at every whim.
I don't know if I could do it living out here and working for someone in the city where I couldn't leave at my discretion (like today, to come home and do a bid)-and unless I wanted to stop at the supermarket on the way out of the city after work and have the traffic delay for doing so cost me 15-20 minutes because the store is at a busy highway intersection, there are no groceries once I pass that intersection between the city limits and my driveway. I would be stark raving mad by the time I got home, tied on my apron, corralled the kid(s) and started rattling the pots and pans-especially when it gets dark so early, like now. Because I work for myself, I can leave early enough to stop in either Boerne or Kerrville at the grocery store if I don't have something I need to fix dinner. I honestly don't know how the working moms who live out here manage to juggle everything without ending up with a substance abuse problem.
Everyone I see or hear has this chest thing going. It's the winds, heat, cold all rolled into one. No rain or snow, though, so we are lucky. Maybe if we got a good rain, all the allergens would get out of the air. < /rant >
Doesn't the Comma Sutra teach you both?
How to be a good grammar and a good grandpa?
