Boy, you wouldn't be wild about me!

I recently bought a "WhisperRoom" so that I could write, record and mix music in my apt at all hours of the day and night.

Last night I wrote a positively thunderous guitar line for a song I am working on.

I agree about the foulness of the lyrics. There is no reason at all that the ideas expressed be from the gutter.

The power of guitar driven Rock is it's simplicity. It reaches people on an almost animal level. This is good and bad.

People should be well rounded though. I listen to damned near every ttype of music there is. Though there are styles or sub generes of rock that I hate as much as you seem to hate guitar oriented Rock.

At night it's nothing but hard rock. The Killers, Lynrd Skynrd, Blondie, Billie Idol, Swiftfoot, ZZ Top,

Take it from a Metalhead. The above mentioned bands are NOT hard rock.

Guns N Roses, Early Aerosmith, Nickelback, WASP, Dokken, Ratt...That stuff is hard rock.

"Dad? Is that you?"

Wow! Over 50 responses within 10 minutes. First of all I am a woman. Middle aged. I have never really liked rock and roll. I have never been to a rock concert in my life. In fact it has never entered my mind to go to one. I never purchased any rock music, even when I was in my 20's. Boy do I sound like a nerd! But I swear I am not one!! Oh and I don't like country and western either. Yikes! Maybe I am a nerd!

As for the music I do like; classical of course, music from the Middle Ages, polyphony, chant, boys choirs. I also like Doo-Wop and some Motown. I like movie scores like Out of Africa. I love most of the work of the movie music composer, John Williams.

I never could and never will appreciate rock and roll.

EXCEPT!!! 2 songs by Queen.

Bohemian Rapsody and We Will Rock You (or is it called We are the Champions) Those are great songs because they have range. And they actually have good singing voices.

that stuff is OLD.

It isn't Korn or Disturbed or anything that would possibly pass for Rock and Roll these days....

BTW I don't think I can remember EVER hearing Blondie or Lynard Skynard in a super market....

Wow! That's really surprising. I remember reading several -- as in numerous/many/alot -- of news stories where they were proudly refusing to stock gangsta rap with questionable lyrics.

Sorry dude, but Korn sucks.

Give me Priest, Maiden, Motorhead, Sabbath, Pantera, Slayer, Megadeth or Overkill any day.

Rock and roll, or talentless corporate noise?

I love those too, with the exception of Motorhead. I just never got into them.

"The Killers, Lynrd Skynrd, Blondie, Billie Idol, Swiftfoot and ZZ Top" are not "hard" rock--they're at most "pop rock."

No I can't agree. The Killers, Blondie and Idol are punk rockers or new wave. (I looked it up.) Okay Swiftfoot is Christain but it so loud and those guitars! Ugh!

And to whoever posted the bunny with the pancake on his head. I think that picture is me. I am a bunny with a pancake on his head. This explains a lot. I am sure that bunny hates rock and roll too.

And to anyone who is interested, rock and roll music REALLY does kill plants.

Half of We Will Rock you is screaming electric guitar... How can you diss the electric twanger?
