I've heard stories like your's before...tolerate abuse or pilandering just cause you should.

There is a clause in the Bible about adultery, but I'm not sure about abuse. God does command us to treat the other spouse with respect. I can't remember the exact wording.
My aunt is also very devout, but agreed with my decision to divorce. She lives back east and didn't know my situation until a few years ago.
