If you're the New York Giants you don't have to wait for Thursday to be thankful. You can start saying your hallelujahs right now for key offseason moves that have the club at the top of its division.
I'm talking about players like Plaxico Burress. And Antonio Pierce. And Jay Feely.
All were veteran free agents the Giants believed could make them better. And they were right. Now they deserve to be recognized, along with others who dared to spend millions on veterans who could stand and deliver.
We can start with the Giants because they scored so many bull's-eyes -- led, of course, by Burress, an unrestricted free agent whom the Giants added after talks between him and the club had broken down.
"We needed a big-time receiver," said Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi. "(Amani) Toomer is going to go down as the most prolific receiver in team history, but we needed a young, big, fast guy, and I always liked (Burress).
"I learned a long time ago that if you have a conviction about someone coming out of college, and he's available four or five years later, to stick to your convictions. We had high grades on him. He's big. He has exceptional speed. And he has real good hands -- better hands than I imagined."

Giants are front and center in this article, with plenty of mentions and praise throughout for Accorsi's free agent pickings.
Bledsoe???? Mr. pat the ball 3 xs, throw from my back foot, hold to ball for a sack, no mobility Bledsoe????
Don't forget throwing into double coverage.
You'd prefer Quincy Carter? ;-)
Or holding the ball low so he could be stripped.
The Jets would at this point.
In Dallas? Vinny T.
Mike Vrabel in the 1997 AFC divisional playoffs vs. Pittsburgh.
I knew there was a reason why the Pats signed him....
That and he's a great tight end on the goal line.
We got to stay healthy, that's key.............
That's even with a healthy Fiedler.
Well, besides Bledsoe, the Cowboys also signed free agents Marco Rivera, Anthony Henry, Jason Ferguson, Peerless Price, and Aaron Glenn. They recently signed Marc Columbo. On top of all this, they had their best draft since the early 1990s (thank you Vikings!!!).
Bledsoe is having one of his best seasons ever. The Cowboys have already won more games than all of last season. He is one of the big reasons why.
you forgot Mr. Highest Passer Efficiency Rating in the NFC.
He had talent up in Buffalo and did nothing up there. They had a great D, good running backs and good receivers.
Some of us know Bledoe a lot better than you do.
Just wait and see.......
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!
