Kevin Harvick and teammate Jeff Burton are both displeased with NASCAR's new tire-leasing rules, which are designed to limit testing by teams.
"The tire situation is out of control," Harvick said. "A lot of the big teams have bought all the tires; we have an abundance of tires, but the newer teams don't have any tires. It's a problem.

"A lot of the new rules they make just cost us all more money."

Burton said: "It's not fair for some teams to be able to test (tires) 20 times this year at Kentucky where other teams can only go twice. It's actually become less fair. It's not equal for everybody.

"And those tire tests now have become exceptionally important."

Point ~ Counterpoint: Will Toyota Be Good For NASCAR?

".........need to remind you that Hoosier and NASCAR’s premier series divorced (again) back in 1994, so what you’re sitting on are Goodyears, but I’ll get back to that later. As to “tires” vs. “tyres”, down here we call them “tars” and if you remember crew chief Steve Byrd, to him they were “tyahs.” It’s all relative, but probably irrelevant."
