Some quickie news bits from
Jayski:
- The Best Buy ride will take #66 this year. For those following the numbers changes, they'll use the 2005 #0 owners' points, the #61 (former #66 team) will take their 2005 #66 points for what they're worth, and the #1 will use the 2005 #15 points.
- Speaking of the #15, former driver Michael Waltrip has also taken Domino's over to the #55.
- Continuing the Waltrip focus, the Other Sadler's trip in the Cup Aaron's Dream Machine will be through Michael Waltrip Racing.
- The Car of the Future is dead in the water due to Detroit's effective pullout.
- Furniture Row Racing will try the full Cup schedule, mostly with Kenny Wallace, and their Busch driver Jerry Robertson will do the races Herm can't.
- The Dodge/BDR lawsuit's going to trial in Michigan next week.
- No new nose on the Charger this year.
- Shane Hmiel has filed a lawsut against Braun Racing looking for the money he had earned before being suspended (and an equal amount for bad faith dealings).
- The Indians that were the sponsor on James Finch's part-time Cup ride will also sponsor his #1 Busch car.
- Both Ford and James Smith deny that it was Ford that caused the shutdown of Ultra Motorsports.
- Meanwhile, defending Truck champ and former Ultra driver Ted Musgrave found a home in the Germain #9 truck.
