How did Bobby Labonte know that moving from Joe Gibbs Racing to Petty Enterprises would be the right thing him to do this year? "I was in my office one day at my shop and I went down the hallway to the fax machine and there was a STP sticker laying there," Labonte said. "I don't know where it came from. It was just laying there. I know that sounds kind of corny but that happened." STP was the longtime sponsor for Richard Petty's No..43 cars. "I looked at my dad and said what does this mean?" Labonte said. "Who put this here?" Labonte left Joe Gibbs Racing, where he won a championship and 21 races, to go to a Petty team that hasn't won since 1999 and has just three victories since 1983. "I felt like in my heart that if I had to drive for somebody else, who would it be for?" Labonte said. "I think it's real important that you're doing the right thing from the time you start your career to the time you end your career. "I think this is a great opportunity to drive for a great family and, hopefully, get the No. 43 car back into Victory Lane."

Looks like Bobby picked up a few MPH today from yesterday's speeds on #43a. I have high hopes for Bobby, after 2 bad years. I sure wish they could paint the car mostly Petty Blue, though. I don't like the yellow. Oh well......whaddyagunna do?
