I reckon some of y'all have already slipped into the New Year of 2006. I've got 2 hours and 10 minutes to go and I will long be in bed before that.
We were without power from 8AM this morn till 7 this evening and missed the resurgence of this thread and the California flooding discussion. It is bad here but not as bad as Napa and Sonoma Counties south of here.
Highway 101 is closed to the north and to the south of Eureka. Highway 299 is closed to the east isolating us from commerce.
HAPPY NEW YEAR and may your next car be a nasCAR!!!

Pete says, for what it's worth, the emergency channel on XM-Radio stated the I-80 is under water in Fairfield, at the junction of highway 4 at the offramp of Pinole Valley.
680 is closed at the junction of 780, and at the Diablo Canyon offramp.
The 101 is closed north of the Golden Gate.
I-880 is underwater at the 238.
Humboldt county is not in such bad shape afterall.
BTW, the 99 is going underwater as we speak, in several spots.
That's where Pete's gonna be playin in the week to come.
See ya on the radio.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR and may your next car be a nasCAR!!!"Perfect!! Happy New Year, stay dry hope the rain stops. Funny how weather just inundates one area and others that need the rain can't catch even a drop!
