Hmmm...wonder why Dear Abby didn't tell Thanksgiving man to ask the dad what HE wants, then scramble to make it happen for HIM.

I agree, but can you imagine if the dad said he didn't feel up to all the festivities?...
"When dad gets feeling better, he'll be mad because we didn't come to visit. We'll feel so guilty if we don't include him".
"Dad probably is trying to make sure we have a great Thanksgiving without fussing over him. Let's get together and surprise him".
"This doesn't sound like dad and I'm worried. Why don't we all go visit him for Thanksgiving and find out what is going on?".
I have seen this kind of nonsense from people I know...kill them with kindness!
