I loathe green bean casserole (although I do love green beans), but politely eat it every holiday season. Around this family, those Durkee things are used as the topping.

my mom gave me an old covered dish that's been in the family for ages, and insisted that I serve green bean casserole in it every thanksgiving...
with just one son and myself around this year, we may go out for thanksgiving dinner -- though i will miss cooking the turkey and dressing
