or texas for that matter.
you know, up until Santonio Holmes scored that TD, the Michigan playmakers had outplayed the Ohio State playmakers.
Then in the final 8 minutes of the game, OSU looked like a killer team again.

It's time for Loyd Carr to go... 1-4 against OSU? Losing
this game by falling apart in the last 4 minutes? Simply unacceptable - U of M has a higher standard than that.

There was a third review in between those. The refs called a Tech touchdown on a pass to the endzone that was laughingly incomplete. The review was so obvious (the ball ended up somewhere near the band section) that at least that one was overturned.
Like I say, I really have no beef with what happened because I wanted to see Oklahoma lose. But that was not college officiating at its best.

So you're from Springfield, Ohio? I lived there for 4 years while attending the Joke, I mean Wittenberg.
What a game by the Bucks. I felt the W slipping away, and all of a sudden--a comeback that will be remembered for generations. It was clutch play by itself, but the fact that the Drive beat Michigan in the Big House...awesome.

I am going to clark State right now to get my GECs out of the way.
the joke. LOL

It was an epic drive.
I really feel for Bobby Carpenter though. I can't imagine what he felt like when his ankle broke. From what I have heard about him and the way he is, he was more worried about getting back into the game than his ankle.

yeah...
the Big Ten crew at the OSU Michigan game was ok....the Back Judge couldn't call anything about Michigan all day, but it all worked out.

The way Carpenter limped off the field in about 2 seconds, he probably still could have played with only 1 leg! He was sure fast enough.
This has been quite a season for comebacks: Tennessee-LSU, USC-Notre Dame, and now OSU-Mich.
To: Cyclopean Squid
yeah...
OSU Michigan State...
Northwestern Wisconsin....
There have been a lot of them.
nah. if it was just a sprain, I am sure he would have come back. But since it was actually broken, I am glad someone pulled him out.

Michael Robinson scores his 11th TD of the year, 17-0 Penn State.
To: Dog Gone
I was about 200 feet from the touchdown, and it was in. Taurean wasn't "down" when he crossed the plane because there were players under him.

I just got home. Has your heart rate returned to normal?

I'll be curious if you still think that when you see the replay from all angles. He was partly on a teammate for a moment, but it wasn't at all obvious that he didn't have a knee or even hip on the ground. He was certainly no longer moving his body forward when he then reached the ball across the plane of the goal line.
If none of his body was on the ground when he did that, it's clearly a touchdown, but that's not how it appeared on my TV. The best I could say is that there was no conclusive proof where his knees or hips were, although no player was underneath him at all when the referee called it a touchdown.

I just saw him "floating" on a bunch of bodies and then reaching. He broke the plane by mere inches. I was right down by the field. But, I haven't seen it on TV yet. They're re-broadcasting the game at 2 a.m. central, and I'm going to try to tape it. For now, here's the only photo I could find. It was the most bizarre ending to a football game I've ever been to. First, a first-down call was reviewed and stood, then, a pass into the endzone to Filani was called a touchdown, reviewed and called no-good, then, the reach-in by Henderson was called a touchdown, reviewed and stood; the teams, media, staff, spirit groups, etc., then rushed the field, the goal posts were taken down by stadium officials, and the referees made everyone leave the field, made the stadium staff re-erect the goalpost, and made TTU snap the ball one more time before they'd call the end of the game. And all of this was just in the last 45 seconds or so of the game. I'm exhausted. However, I'll agree with you that the officiating was horrible; at least horribly AGAINST Tech early in the game, with holding penalties by OU that went un-called, etc. For some reason, this season I've less-than-impressed with Big 12 officiating.
To: hispanarepublicana
It was the most entertaining game since the USC/Notre Dame game this season and I'm glad it turned out the way it did. I've expressed my doubts about the officiating, but it's an official game now and congratulations to the Red Raiders.
