She already has been forced by her parents to give up basketball and track because of slipping grades,

I approve of the parents decision to pull her out of sports until the grades come up - kudos to them - however, wouldn't the school have suspended her from playing until the grades were brought up? Anything below a C means a suspension doesn't it?

If that's how Oklahoma's schools work. I know here in Texas that grades must be maintained, or else (don't pass, don't play).
