It's also Jimmy Buffett's birthday as well! I used to wear a tropical inspired blouse at Midnight Mass and always toast a shot of tequila to JB and JC on Christmas Day. lol. Actually, December 25 is just an approximation/fabrication of JC's day of birth, to coincide with the pagan festival of the winter solstice.

I think the best reason to celebrate, though, is the thought that my family is safe and well, happy and healthy, and mostly 3000 miles away on an opposite coast. That last part is a joke. Really.

The truth of the matter is, you just DON'T KNOW what religion the person follows. I worked in a retail business that was very "hands on", in other words, I didn't just ring up sales and fold clothes. I actually helped the customer in their purchase decision. For instance, the girl shopping for a Hanukkah gift for her brother. There was nothing in this girl's demeanor or appearance that would say "I'm Jewish", but I'm sure I would have been corrected if I ended the sale with "Merry Christmas".

This Happy Holidays/Merry Christmas thing is a NON-issue, IMHO. Be thankful YOU'RE not the one running a register for 6.50 an hour and hearing people complain...."It's MERRY CHRISTMAS!, NOT HAPPY HOLIDAYS!" Maybe that person is Jewish, or Muslim, or Hindu. Or non practicing of religion. But at least they're working to support their family, instead of sitting home and squirting out babies on the taxpayer's dollar.

I hate the PC stuff too,and do what I can WHERE IT COUNTS (like checking off the OTHER box on EOE forms, and writing in AMERICAN). That's what matters.

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

My intention in saying "Happy Birthday Jesus" is not to antagonize anyone. It's to get their minds on the One who can save their soul. Sometimes rattling someone's cage is the only way they'll atleast begin to realize that it is the celebration of Christ's birth (be it in Sept. or whatever). I am not at all concerned about the feelings of the clerks but very much concerned about the feelings of my Lord. I shall confess him before men so that He will confess ME before His Father.
