Exactly. I know nothing about Katie Holmes, but I know moves like this blow the minds of feminists. They can't grasp that raising a child is pretty much the most important thing a woman can do.
And to give up a "career" to raise a child, much less giving up fame and stardom, does not register in their minds.
What people don't like isn't the idea of Katie staying at hme to take care of the kids.
