BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- An Indiana University study indicates that rural Indiana men have trouble using condoms properly, a finding that researchers say leads to an increase in sexually transmitted diseases.
The study found high occurrences of men putting condoms on incorrectly and high instances of men who lost erections before or during sex.
Health experts are concerned that couples could be discouraged from using condoms when they have problems with them.
Researchers said the survey results point out a need for the dissemination of more public health information regarding condom usage. Researchers said couples should be encouraged to make condom use an erotic part of sexual activity.
"Most research explores whether condoms are used consistently," said William L. Yarber, senior director at Indiana University's Rural Center for AIDS/HIV Prevention and a researcher at the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction. "We've found that's just part of the issue of condoms being an effective contraceptive and STD barrier."
Research was conducted by telephone. 75 rural men were asked about their last condom use experience and the last time they had sex with a woman.
Why couldn't I have met some of you nice "conservative" women when I was young and single? That would of been a
Hoot!
Sorry. The harem was sleeping.
Why are you having trouble sleeping? Too much coffee before bed? I don't drink alcoholic beverages but way back when, when I wasn't so inclined, wine would keep me up all night. Didn't take much, either.
Damn Max,
I stumble out of bed, grab my coffee and this is the first post I read. Not using a condom right? Sex with a woman?
Do some people just have too much time on their hands!
PS,
All my dogs just came in through the dog door coated in mud....but it hasn't rained in weeks.
