Exactly. There is no room in the large size I wear now. Smuggling something in it is impossible.
I wouldn't know where to buy one big enough to smuggle that parrot in.

Seriously,
Bird breeding is big business....
I know of folks who have 200K invested in just a handful of breeding pairs. With only 3 clutches (about 12 babies a year) a breeder can look to make between 60 and 100K a year in profit.
So yeah, jail for a bird.

What is funny is that on the bird lists, this is story is being discussed as seriously as any Supreme Court decision here ;)
As for wrong business, well, you can do it if you're willing to live in a super sterile environment -- allowing no one in your home who owns any type of bird, be willing to hand feed hatch-lings around the clock, spend a small fortune on avian vet bills and DNA sexing.
Plus deal with all the different personalities and emotional eccentricities of some very intelligent birds
