I predict the day will come when owning a dog will be something only the very rich will be able to afford. Here's the list of what the insurance companies are now considering "dangerous breeds": Pit Bulls, Rottweillers, German Shepherds, Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Doberman Pinchers, Chow Chows, Great Danes, St. Bernards, and Akitas. Perhaps the list has grown since I owned a dog and tried to get homeowner's insurance.
Not that I would agree with that list but maybe it is time to get strict on owning an animal that could become uncontrollable at a moments notice?
It's not like owning a gun or a car, they are in-animate objects that are ultimately controlled by a person. A dog as a mind of it's own.
So far, our mastiff hasn't caused our homeowners to go up...
St. Bernards? Great Danes? Ridiculous!
