Not a Burma Shave sign but one in Assam, India caught my eye.
It was a narrow curvy blacktop and the road sign said "IN THIS CORNER GET HORNY".

Memories. I would give anything to transport today's young people to those years for just a little while- long enough for them to "get it"..

You got that right! The generation today don't seem to "get it" at all!
I've been thru all the hell life has to offer and I've learned one hell of a lot! I am grateful of the years my parents and the lifestyle of the 40s and the 50's.
I remember well the Burma Shave signs in the 40's. Easier to read when you're traveling 35 mph on the highway!
Food rationings. Gas rationings. Tin cans collections. Boy Scout and Cub Scout. Movies on a 25 cents allowance. Washed dishes for Mom while she was working. Yeah, I did all that.
And I am totally sick of the stupid liberals and their brainless thinking!
I can go on and on but I had better not use up Jim Robinson's bandwidth.

I have the book. We "kids" couldn't wait for a family road trip. Our eyes were peeled for the next set of Burma Shave signs. We also saw nearly all of the continental U.S. because we were looking out the window, but I digress.
Here are some war-related ones from the '40's:
Let's make Hitler
And Hirohito
Look as sick as
Old Benito

My favorite, from 1950:
Twinkle, twinkle

From a cartoon:
Farewell, O verse

Know you're
Out of mode
