We are Christians, might I remind you, and the wayward brother now suffers and it is a suffering that we are creating for our own future as well.

History will record that, in 1794, France outlawed religion and re-named Notre Dame Cathedral "The Temple of Reason".

France may be many things but France ceased being "Christian" a long time ago.

What is happening now is good for France. It will help to pull France's head out of its collective arse just as Pearl Harbor helped America pull its head out of its collective arse.

Over 2200 years ago, my namesake wrote:

"There are two ways by which all men may reform themselves, either by learning from their own errors or from those of others; the former makes a more striking demonstration, the latter a less painful one."

Up to now, France has been too stupid and egotistical to learn from the errors of others. They are now experiencing a more striking demonstration and learning a more painful lesson from their own errors.

Maybe, in the case of France, Polybius was wrong and the old Spanish proverb was correct:

"Nadie escarmienta por cabeza ajena."

"Nobody learns his lesson through another person's head."

And then Napolean was crowned in a church by a bishop. Might I remind you that our own government, as an example, has the most liberal abortion laws in the world. The hour before birth, its still just a clump of cells.
