Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Violence continues for an eighth straight day in the suburbs of Paris. Over 200 vehicles were set ablaze overnight.
Meanwhile, in this country, the Las Vegas mayor suggested that people who are caught defacing freeways with grafitti should have their thumbs cut off--on TV.
And the media, doing what they do best--harrass--have been so bent on going after Judge Alito's mother, who is 90 years old, that she has become, for all intents and purposes, a prisoner in her own home. Neighbors say she isn't even able to go outside and undertake one of her favorite activities, tending to her flowers, for fear of being hounded by media outlets.

What an incredible improvement Em has had. I'm so glad she's out there having some fun while she's making money.
I cannot imagine how stenuous it's been for her and your family. The Power of Prayer is an Awesome thing.
Thius will be our weekend for hawaiian food. Down to oldest D in San Diego for a hula concert and party after. Son flying down from Eugene to stage manage concert. Third weekend this year. I usually take some food. Lomi salmon, poke, and maybe kalua pig.
This started out a couple of years ago as GD taking hula lessons. The mothers got into it and then the fathers started accompanying with ukes and slack key guitar. They make their own leis and costumes and do it "old" hawaiian style.
Oh my Gosh! Are you ever going to have fun!!! I hope you'll have the energy to tell us all about it when you return.
LOL The first time this happened I, who usually go directly to sleep at dark, was happily doing the hula for the assembled multitudes at 1 in the morning. And on only two beers!!!
Reminded me of my mid-twenties when I lived in Waikiki and we would party all night. Those were the days.

Well, I've spent the evening clearing out the Deleted File in my computer. I had about 2600 when I started. I'm down to about 170. Some of the jokes are really just too good to hit the button.
Now I can move to the Sent file and delete them all, I really hate this job, but my computer was beginning to slow down, it had to be done.
For those who enjoy reading, here is my take on two books. I finished The Rule of Four by Ian Caldwell last night. A pretty good mystery, but ultimately unsatisfying. Too many plot twists and turns. I cannot recommend the book.
I am now finishing The Avenger by Frederick Forsyth. I have enjoyed reading Forsyth's books through the years (Day of the Jackal, The Odessa File, The Fist of God, etc.) The Avenger ranks right up there with his best novels. It is the story of a man who tries to right the wrongs done to innocents of this world. A young man is brutally killed in Bosnia, and the Avenger is out to avenge his death. Suspenseful and excellent writing as usual from Forsyth. I give this book 4 stars out of 5 stars.

I finished Andersonville, wow, what a read. Now I have started on 'Gettysburg' by Newt Gingrich and William Forstchen. Now , to find a historical novel on Visksburg. I am into war books, current and past wars.

Went to Lowes instead, I was like a kid in a candy shop.
I am off to eat some FRESH eggs for breakfast, I mean FRESH, collected them yesterday.
I'm having fake (Eggbeaters) eggs because of my high cholesterol.
Of the 1200 men on board, only 317 survived for 4 days and nights in open waters of the South Pacific.
The son of one of those 317 survivors recommended it to me, and I can safely say that it is one of the most gripping stories I've ever read about the closing days of WWII.
