What Are You Reading Right Now?

Posted on 11/01/2005 7:42:00 PM PST by MplsSteve

I'm interested in hearing what fellow Freepers are reading these days.

Fiction...non-fiction...trashy novels...technical manuals...it doesn't matter.

I'll start this.

I'm reading "The Kingfish and His Realm; The Life and Times of Huey P Long" by William Ivy hair.

A great book that explores the darker side of Huey P Long that hasn't been covered in other biographies.

Well? What are YOU reading?

The Saga of Grettir the Strong, and early 14th Century Icelandic saga. Fortunately it is an English translation, not the original Icelandic.

Almost Done with Mikhail Bulgakov's "Master and Margarita."

Interesting Russian novel that's taken me some time to get through. One almost has to absorb each page and dwell on each chapter for a few days before continuing on to the next.

100 People Who Are Screwing Up America is by Bernard Goldberg, an ex-60 Minutes CBS guy who also wrote Bias (also very good) and Arrogance (I need to read yet). I don’t want to spoil a good ending of the book but I’ll give you a hint “M.M.”

Weber, David Drake, Eric Flint, and John Ringo are clustered pretty close together,

Man, are you like my long lost twin or something? These are the people who I would order book by BEFORE they wrote them!

" Barnes & Noble"

Yep. $10!

"It doesn't have a copyright"

Isn't that extremely strange?

" a whole different perspective on the 'Civil War' "

Sure does!
