I'm interested in hearing what fellow Freepers are reading these days.
Fiction...non-fiction...trashy novels...technical manuals...it doesn't matter.
I'll start this.
I'm reading "The Kingfish and His Realm; The Life and Times of Huey P Long" by William Ivy hair.
A great book that explores the darker side of Huey P Long that hasn't been covered in other biographies.
Well? What are YOU reading?
My last topic and last post for today.
This Zangger book is one I've been reading off and on for months. Keep reading other stuff, then coming back to this one.
I think I can figure that one out ;)
Thanks for the info.
Ick. I'm still reading "Franco." World War 2 has ended.
Took forever!
What I will read as soon as it hits the library is the next book by Gordon Kent. Best fiction "author" writing, far as I'm concerned.
Pseudonym for a father-son team, both career Naval guys. Combines Navy stuff with spy stuff.
" Man, are you like my long lost twin or something? These are the people who I would order book by BEFORE they wrote them!"
More like your long-lost clone sibling. Do you know how many thousands feel the same way about those guys? Look at the way their books sell. Ringo is on this forum, although I doubt he is much active anymore. (Too busy getting paid for writing and God bless 'im for it.)
And if you have not yet discovered the Baen Free Library get yourself down to the website (http://www.baen.com/library/) and check it out.
The next Honor Harrigan book by Weber is OUT!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO
Sorry!!
So how do you like Goblet of Fire? Is this your first time through it, or are just getting to it in the series? We love Harry Potter at my house.
First time through. I definitely do see the "darkening" I've heard about, from book to book. Looking forward to the movie next week, it looks pretty cool.
I've been doing my best to stay away from spoiler threads and articles as I play catch-up. I've already inadvertently heard a thing or two I didn't want to know.
I was surprised how close the first two movies were to the books; and equally at the ways the third diverged from the book. Actually, I thought the movie more focused and clever than the book!
How about you?
Dan
I will be sure not to spoil anything for you. I will say, you have a lot of fun to look forward to, and your assesment of Book 3 and the movie is a common one.
I am really looking forward to the next movie, they have a lot of editing to do.
No kidding. It looks pretty intense, too. Have you seen this bunch of clips?

"The next Honor Harrigan book by Weber is OUT!!!!!"
You didn't know? I am third on the waiting list at my public library, which is a good thing. I am on deadline for three magazine articles, so not spending the time reading it right now is a *good* thing.
Your welcome. :)
Bump for more suggestions.
