The uber-right were the ones who did the heavy lifting in GOTV. Don't forget it!
You want to know about heavy lifting. I'll show you heavy lifting. A U.S. soldier kisses the dog tags of a fallen colleague during a memorial ceremony at Camp Marez in Mosul. President Bush paid tribute to our troops in his radio address Saturday.
Our soldiers and their Commander-in-Chief have done the truly heavy lifting of trying to keep us safe from more terrorist bombings and bioweapons attacks (e.g., anthrax) for more than four years. Non-stop, 24x7x365.
When you admonish people not to forget your puny version of "heavy lifting," spare a thought for the real deal and those who are doing it, including George W. Bush, the man so many of you love to disrespect at the drop of a hat. (To disagree is one thing; to disrespect is quite another.)
By the way, don't arrogate to yourself the notion that only you "real" conservatives did some campaigning. This "Bushbot" worked to help elect and support GWB starting in 1999. I stuffed envelopes, made phone calls, walked precincts, manned campaign offices, gave up nights and weekends, delivered yard signs, registered voters -- all of it and then some. And I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.
