Need Computer Help to Record Audio through a Microphone

Double Click your little speaker in sys tray the go to properties select record then enable mic.

If you have your mic in the right hole it should record if you also have a sound card in your computer. If the answer is yes to both of those try a free music production software program to record with called Audacity. Just google for it.

Open up the volume control window by clicking on the speaker icon on the lower right portion of the task-bar next to the clock. when the window opens make sure the mute box is not checked for the function you are attempting to use.

Well doesn't look like anyone is going to step in here so.... make sure the microphone is not muted. On your soundcard settings you should have the option for record and playback. Make sure under recording the microphone checkbox is checked. Also make sure the recording volume under recording control is up sufficiently. You may have the option for 3db+ boost... try with the box on and off (if available)

In the "Sound Recorder" go to "Edit" and select "Audio Proprieties ... from their check the you have the correct "sound recording" "Default Device" selected

Yes, volume control window shows everything is on and mute is NOT checked.

Double left click on speaker in sys tray, then click options in the displayed window then click record.

Yes, default is checked in Audio Properties. We have Nvidia4 if that helps.
