The best game of the week-end, SO FAR.

Finally, a good game on Monday Night.

Haloween Night. All the commmunity area kids night are over, all the Pubs and Bars had their celebrations Saturday, and now we have the real Haloween Night. Ho-Hum.

We do have Baltimore impersonating a football team.

Look out in the 2nd half. Who knows what witches brew will bring either team out of hiding.

So far, decent game.

Yup almost like a college football rivalry. Records on paper often do not matter. We are getting zero pressure on Wright (who I always liked when he was with Pittsburgh)

Still no pressure on Wright. This is getting ugly (as are my efforts to type).

The Steelers are playing down to their level. Time to step it up. Enough already.

Agree 100%. Have we gotten Wright's jersey dirty tonight?

No way the Steelers get anywhere post-season with crappy defense like that.

Billick had it right: "a f***in' sack" is the only reason Pittsburgh won.

It should easily have been a rout.

That was a hugh Big W. When a team is going right it seems to happen in a sloppy game. Hey, that is the game. I can remember many of times in the past we didn't win those games.

Opinion: The Steelers are clicking on only 4 of 8 cylinders right now. That might be good for the middle of the season. My concern: Rothlesberger lost it long term last year near the end of the season. Maybe Batch should be given a game? Heck, I'm not the coach, just a suggestion. Against Green Bay would be perfect.

Shhhhhh, keep it quiet. My Med friend at U of Pgh says Staley should be ready to go in 1 week. That would be nice.

Trib reported absolutely no other injuries the past week except for Roth's right knee that was diagnosed as just a good lick and will heal within 3-4 days. She also said, not reported anywhere, Joey Porter was dehydrated to a dangerous point during the game. Nobody saw it, but he passed out inthe locker room. Easy recovery situation though, she said. Also not reported, Ward got a nasty cut on his lower back that required 8 stitches after the game. Nobody knows from what.

Hey, that's all I know.

Bottom line, we're looking as good as anyone to continue to the Super Bowl.

Thanks for the update. I agree that it is a huge win. Great teams (almost like great pitchers) have to pull out games when they do not have their best stuff, particularly division games. That is what we did and we all know any game against Baltimore is going to be tough, regardless of their record comoing in.

That having been said, the defense is still having trouble getting off the field on third downs (or seems to be I haven't looked at the stats) and no one has stepped up at the the #2 WR spot to help out the passing game. Miller's emergence is nice, but we need another consistent threat outside. Morgan maybe? He is been playing well for an 11th hour pickup.

Although the GB game scares me, I think you might be right about giving Ben a rest. I would rather have him healthy for Indi. and the stretch run.

FYI.

PITTSBURGH -- Ben Roethlisberger's right knee injury apparently isn't serious, but Pittsburgh Steelers coach Bill Cowher wasn't ready to say if his quarterback will be ready to play Sunday in Green Bay.

Article goes on to say Batch is the #2 and will play if Ben is not ready.

Well, this is not what I was hoping for.

Bad news for Ben Roethlisberger you need to know about.

Roethlisberger had arthroscopic knee surgery to repair damaged
cartilage and will be out for Sunday's game. It's possible he could
miss the week 10 game as well.

The team is saying he should be ready to return for week 11. Charlie
Batch will start.

According to coach Bill Cowher, the surgery was performed at St.
Margaret Memorial Hospital and only took 15 minutes. Roethlisberger
was said to be resting at home.

As far as what this means to the other Steeler players, look for them
to rely on the strength of their team - running the ball. Willie Parker
will likely be leaned on a little more. Keep an eye on Jerome Bettis
as he's banged up. If he's limited for the game, this could be a nice
day for Parker.
