No, that's alright -- that's what I need, although I have looked at lighter models and said to myself, "You won't be happy with it. You'll regret it" (because they're not as powerful, or too expensive).

I wouldn't go with any of the super light ones, personally. I know I'd end up carrying around so many extra batteries and drives and such that it'd make up for any weight savings on the system itself, plus they usually are lacking in power and have lousy keyboards (my personal pet peeve).

Had a friend that had a Sony Vaio that was fairly big but still pretty thin and light. It was purrrrty - nice screen, too. I have no idea what the reliability was, though - haven't talked to her in awhile, and it's not like I often check up on friends' systems. Not now that I'm no longer local to help them with spyware removal and all. But I wonder if any of the Sonys might fit the bill for ya...
