Speaking about baseball, Fitzgerald used a baseball analogy to explain his indictments. Here's a transcript:

"I can explain the entire case with a baseball analogy: man on first isn't a basestealing risk, pitcher's curveball isn't working today, the grass is Kentucky blue, paid attendance is 13,543, the umpire has been married for 24 years, the team at bat doesn't have pinstripe uniforms, the infield is playing in, beer sales end in the seventh inning, the wind is blowing out toward left field, the infield-fly rule is very confusing, I miss Harry Caray, tomorrow's game is sold out, Ed Ott was one helluva good catcher, two balls and one strike, tough-actin' Tinactin, Jacob's Field is a great venue, Steinbrenner's an ass, shortstop has a bad ankle, if you hit the bull in center field you get a free steak, you can get sushi right here in the ballpark.

"I think that should clear things up."
