I should have known. You have that familiar glazed over look from staring at census extracts all day.

I'm currently working a couple of tricky lines. By "working," I mean that I will eventually get around to it. Things are much easier on this side of the Atlantic.

It depends where you search. I'm looking for my first husband's line, and have narrowed it down to nine who came through Ellis Island at the right time, but only three of them from the right (I think) area in Europe. Not easy.
