LOL! Works for me! When I was a kid, the movies with the "French Foreign Leigion" were the ones to watch for bravery and valor...we must have been watching thier recruiting films...

And who makes up the French Foreign Legion....? Not the French?

We had no such thing as a used book store. Maybe it's a good thing, too...we would have supported it. Literally!

I'd say, if they don't get it resolved in 10 months, that you're NOT going to Paris. Whomever you're planning to meet in Paris will probably already have gone somewhere else and your meeting will have either been relocated or cancelled altogether. Beyond that, if they don't get this resolved in 10 months, there might not BE a Paris, considering the rate at which things are going up in smoke over there.

If they don't have this fully contained in three months, we should invade France the following month, purge it entirly of Islamist hordes and NOT make the mistake of giving it back to the French. It'd be wonderful to be able to fly to Europe without leaving the United States.

NnB has got it just about right. Yes, this is pre-Y2K software, and enough so that they were using the shorthand of "last two digits" of the year. A wretched practice that seemed to vanish for a while around 2000 but seems to be seeping back in. Dealing with different nationalities with with different date conventions, I often can't tell if 05/06/07 is June 7 2005, May 6 2007, June 5 2007, or what...

It will become much clearer in 2013.

So...is it safe to use my other recovery CD's?
To "upgrade" it? Will my hard drive support it?

Is Paris burning? *\;-|

(I find this sad. I have a few French friends and though I slip into it a bit from time to time on FR, I don't like bashing the French. Hey, even if they got everything else wrong, which they haven't, they figured out that nuclear power is the way to go and have done a good job of it -- ~75% of their electricity.)

To be safe, I would not use "recovery CDs" for a different machine. There is at least a chance that they're hardwired for a particular hardware configuration. Even things like graphic "cards" change from model to model within the same brand.

Your problem may be that, once having made the assumption that the year is nineteen and aught whatever, your "recovery" may support that evidence.

The worst case is that you may have to re-enter the data. (If so, don't forget to put on your Andrew Lesker suit.)

Try to be sure your new software, if you have to use it, does not have this program glitch.

As a bonus to you for your troubles, here is my poem dedicated to "Aught" (sort of a Seinfeld thing....)

Aught

This is the decade of the aughts, a decade of contention.
And not for nothing, I point out, aught was a great invention.
Aught’s not often talked about, but for the network lad,
Who’d aught to say of it, except that it was bad.

Computer guys think well of it, and use it happily,
Without the zero in its place, just where then would one be?
And aught we ought to have to say, to those who wish us ill,
For fraught with consequences is the case, when aughts are in the bill!

Sorry, it's Matthew Lesko ... (sheesh, not even close.)

(It's for "entering the data," like entering a swimming pool? ... Oh, never mind!)

Paris proper, isn't burning -- yet. But automobiles are in grave danger of being torched, a couple thousand of them having been set afire during this unrest, which has now spread to Belguim, Denmark and Germany.

To top it, the Aussies, it seems, have just managed to put the clamps on a planned acts of terrorism in Sydney and Melbourne.

This cauldron's coming to a rolling boil, my friend, and the free world had better not shrink from using whatever means may be necessary to douse the fire before it boils over.

I have returned.

It seems that the three older children have all been bumped up a level at the swim club, so my carefully worked out schedule needs to be reworked carefully. Gack!

And, adult lap swimming was cancelled due to no hot water for showers. Double Gack!

Time for supper and some good conversation with all y'all here on FR.

Tonight, my supper was chicken alfredo and green beans. Now I'm waiting for my cherry cobbler to cool.

I had a bologna sandwich and a diet Dr. Pepper. I am considering getting the tin of chocolate frosting from the fridge and a spoon.
